Mini Biography : Born as a son of a grain merchant in 1869, Henri Matisse
started painting at the age of 21. Matisse gave up a lawyer career and started
to attend art classes at Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Around 1905 he
invented his own style, full of bright colors and daring brush strokes, which
gave him his international fame. He died in 1954 in Nice. |
